Steve is a dedicated Case Manager at Ocean State Recovery Center and a proud cat owner of three. He provides compassionate support and guidance to individuals navigating the recovery process. With a strong background in case management and client advocacy, Steve specializes in connecting individuals with essential resources, developing personalized care plans, and facilitating groups.
What makes Steve uniquely qualified for this role is his own lived experience with recovery. Having achieved long-term sobriety through working a strong program, attending 12-step meetings, having a sponsor, and doing step work, he deeply understands the challenges and triumphs of the recovery journey. This personal insight allows Steve to offer genuine empathy, encouragement, and guidance to those seeking lasting change.
As a result of his recovery journey, Steve has gone back to school, transferring from community college to Rhode Island College, where he is majoring in Behavioral Health while obtaining his bachelor’s degree. This academic pursuit reflects his commitment to deepening his knowledge and expanding his ability to support individuals struggling with substance use and mental health challenges.
Beyond case management, Steve is an avid skateboarder who has played a key role in expanding Rhode Island’s skateboarding community, helping to open multiple skateparks in Providence and organizing events to clean up skateparks throughout the city.
Steve remains dedicated to both professional growth and community service, using his passion for advocacy—both in recovery and in his broader community—to make a positive impact.
