Heather is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges while fostering healing, resilience and personal growth. Using a strength based, trauma-informed approach, Heather views therapy as a collaborative process. She helps patients build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting changes. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI), tailoring treatment to each patient’s unique needs.
She has extensive experience working with adults experiencing substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health challenges through individual, group therapy, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Her background also includes community outreach counseling, hospice care, grief support and working with incarcerated individuals at Rhode Island Department of Corrections.
Heather believes in kindness, authenticity, compassion and a little humor, recognizing that strong therapeutic relationships create the foundation for healing.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her two sons and her faithful Goldendoodle, Chip. She values self-care and loves creating art, browsing antique shops, relaxing with a good book on the beach, or listening to the latest true-crime podcast.
