Neuropsych Testing

Our neuropsychological evaluations begin with a one on one intake session with our trained psychologists. During this initial interview, you will be asked about your symptoms, medical history, and other important factors.

After the initial visit, you’ll be ready to begin your personalized testing program. Depending on your circumstances, this typically takes two to four sessions.

THE BENEFITS OF TESTING

Why Test?

Our practice conducts comprehensive psychological and clinical neuropsychological assessments for adults. Our testing program assesses a variety of cognitive functions. Testing can be helpful in approaching an array of difficulties, including:

  • Attention issues
  • Academic difficulties
  • Learning disabilities
  • Social and communication issues
  • Emotional or behavioral concerns
  • Autism Spectrum disorders
  • Genetic disorders
  • Head injury or stroke
  • Difficulty with memory
  • Dementia
  • Psychiatric issues
  • Substance abuse

What to Expect

Once we receive your testing inquiry, one of our staff members will reach out to collect your demographic information and have a brief phone screen to confirm eligibility. Testing is in high demand so we ask for your patience throughout the scheduling process. Once scheduled we will begin virtual tests prior to having you come in person or conducting testing via our virtual platforms due to COVID-19 precautions. The average testing program takes from six to twelve hours to complete. Our practice prefers to extend the program over multiple sessions to suit the patient’s needs.

Tips for Success

Be prepared! Make sure you are well rested and have a wholesome breakfast. We recommend bringing a snack along. Remember to take any prescriptions at your normal dose on the day of the evaluation. Be sure to bring your glasses, hearing aids, etc.

Results

Upon completion of the testing program, results are combined with any relevant medical or behavioral histories. Working from decades of experience, our psychologists analyzes this information and assemble a comprehensive, personalized report.

This report will be presented during your follow-up consultation. At that time, our team will be able to provide informed treatment recommendations.
