Clinical Supervisor

Clinical Supervisor Danny Seliger studied at Rhode Island College where he graduated cum laude with a double major in psychology and chemical dependency/addiction studies. Danny is a person in long term recovery and has been with Ocean State Recovery since shortly after its founding. He has worked as a substance use clinician at many different levels of care including outpatient, residential, and in an acute psychiatric hospital. Over the past decade, Danny’s experience in all these settings has given him a unique skill set in which he is able to treat a variety of substance use and co-occurring issues.

Danny has led trainings and presented on a variety of topics including SBIRT, mindfulness, trauma informed care, crisis de-escalation, neuropsychology, and SUD with co-occurring disorders at departments of correction and numerous CCBHCs across Rhode Island.

Using non-judgmental trauma informed approach, Danny specializes in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and has been trained in the application of Internal Family Systems (IFS) for trauma processing in addiction treatment.

Danny and his wife are animal lovers with a house full of pets. Danny is an artist and a bee-keeper who spends much of his time outside with nature. He believes authenticity and present moment awareness to be invaluable tools to healthy living and incorporates these aesthetics into his practice with clients.
